About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Sales Manager as a key member of the Sales team
- Conduct outside customer sales and drive sales satisfaction through direct contact, phone, and electronic communications
- Manage assigned territory and established account base
- Identify decision makers, make sales calls, uncover customer needs, and close sales
- Contact customers and articulate Kendall’s value proposition for products and services
- Keep CRM account, contact, and opportunity pipeline information up to date
- Attend sales and company meetings, industry shows, and conventions as requested
- Represent Kendall in presentations, briefings, trade events, and public relations activities
- Entertain customers and maintain goodwill
- Promote customer training programs
- Make special or emergency deliveries when needed
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting
- Forward competitor activity information and possible sales leads
- Plan account strategies, goals, and objectives
- Meet or exceed sales targets and maximize gross margin and profit goals
- Conduct business reviews aligned with client goals and present to client executives
- Collaborate with technical, management, project, and other internal resources to achieve account goals
- Manage proposal delivery and follow-up
- Pursue business aligned with company goals
- Participate in project management meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and identify revenue opportunities
- Review sales reports and provide value-added solutions
- Submit call, expense, and other required reports
- Present project change orders
- Liaise between Kendall resources to resolve account issues, including project delays, warranty, and repair issues
- Assist with delinquent account collection and obtain credit information from new customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous sales experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new software
- Business acumen, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical abilities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- High abstract reasoning and solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environment

- Excellent internal and external customer service
- Experience working in a sales department
- Self-motivated to learn new technologies and complete tasks on time

- Ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, climb stairs, and operate a vehicle
- Ability to work in a normal office, warehouse, and fabrication environment with exposure to moving equipment
- Preferred but not required: 3 years of electrical distribution experience
- Preferred but not required: 5 years of sales experience calling on the commercial electrical industry or electrical contractors
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree
