About the role
- Day-to-day supervision and operations of Senior Accountant and Accountant performance management and staffing.
- Coach Senior Accountants to deploy and complete activities guided by compliance requirements and senior advisors.
- Utilize escalation protocols to resolve issues and collaborate with Managing Advisor to ensure service delivery standards.
- Build and sustain cross-functional relationships and embody Tides JEDI beliefs and core values.
- Onboard new partners and transition partners to service delivery teams; engage with partners for enhanced scopes of work.
- Staff Management and Team Leadership responsibilities including developing team goals, collaborating with service team leaders, ensuring GAAP compliance, managing audit processes, reviewing grant agreements and revenue recognition, implementing accounting procedures, maintaining NetSuite financial system integrity, reviewing and approving journal entries and complex financial statements, coaching Sr. Accountants, and managing project monthly closes and reconciliations.
- Management of Fiscally Sponsored Projects Caseload responsibilities including approving cash disbursements, monitoring project cash flow, summarizing and forecasting project revenues/expenses/cash flows, reviewing financial transactions, annual audit and tax reporting responsibilities, leading projects and reviewing funder reporting and organizing annual project audits.
Requirements
- Experiential knowledge of FAR, CFR and relevant OMB circulars as well as GAAP/FASB standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of internal and external clients; ability to strive for high level of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse team, with attention to collaboration and working collaboratively toward solutions that generally benefit all involved parties.
- Demonstrated ability to hold confidential information with excellent judgment.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain high-level and consistent work ethic in working relationships and all work-related duties.
- Self-motivated and organized with attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be both diplomatic and confident.
- Proficient in enterprise-wide accounting systems such as NetSuite (or similar ERP software), Proficiency with MS Office suite of products.
- Proven track record of maintaining effective internal controls and developing efficient financial policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to see the big picture while understanding the details involved and the ramifications of the decisions made.
- Proven ability to organize and support workflow processes that ensure high degrees of accuracy and accountability within team members
- 6 years of progressive or direct experience and relevant bachelor’s degree or 8 years of relevant experience. Non-profit accounting and government grant management experience strongly preferred.
