About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain relationships and sales revenues with assigned customers by understanding their needs and developing customer-focused solutions
  • Focus on organizations and customers where The Institutes can have the most significant impact and garner significant revenue opportunities
  • Develop virtual selling capabilities relevant to assigned accounts
  • Use market intelligence, social media, and networking opportunities to develop relationships with prospects, stakeholders, and influencers
  • Work with local industry association groups to access association membership and corporate customers
  • Work closely with the President – Agent & Broker Group to achieve overall revenue targets
  • Record sales activities in CRM in a timely manner and meet or exceed sales activity metrics
  • Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College degree required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of successful sales or client management experience
  • Experience in the risk management and insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel required
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong industry relationships
  • Ability to retain business, close sales, proactively seek new business, and identify cross-sell opportunities
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout all organizational levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to identify, observe, and analyze problems and data
  • Ability to formulate business questions and pursue insights
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives, risks, and rewards when making decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries
