About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell The Home Depot's exterior and interior products and services to customers
  • Travel to customers' homes and trade shows for outside sales visits
  • Assess customer needs and provide tailored product recommendations
  • Develop and negotiate customized price quotes
  • Present warranty information and financing options
  • Complete sales contracts and related paperwork
  • Take measurements using industry-standard methods to meet installation specifications
  • Proactively solicit and acquire new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events
  • Travel to assigned stores, maintain local relationships, educate store associates on HDIS offerings, and increase awareness of HDIS programs
  • Prospect for referrals and develop relationships with store management and associates
  • Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn about HDIS products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • High school diploma and/or GED typically acquired for the role
  • 1+ years of previous related work experience
  • Prior in-home or virtual sales experience preferred
  • Prior home improvement industry experience preferred
  • Prior successful lead generation experience preferred
  • Computer and application skills, including email, iPad, apps, and varied technology
  • No previous leadership experience required
  • Must continuously stand or walk, or regularly lift, handle, or carry 8–20 pounds
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer homes, stores, and industry events
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% of the time
