About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead on the annual insurance renewal process
- Manage claims against the Council
- Provide assurance to the Head of Finance
- Deal with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop reporting of insurance data
- Identify areas for improvement and drive decision making
- Gather information from the public, council tenants, and colleagues to make informed decisions
- Support the Finance Team in transforming services and driving forward financial performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working within a financial environment, supporting service teams within either the public sector or a similar environment
- Experience of dealing with insurance and involvement in the annual insurance premium process
- Experience dealing with the general public
- Good understanding of the claims process
- Experience investigating claims made against an organisation
- Ability to deal with data and understand what the data means
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across the Council
- Personable and patient when dealing with the public, council tenants, and colleagues
- Enthusiasm for ensuring a right first time approach
- Supporting statement must clearly address how you meet the criteria in the Person Specification
- Application form must be fully completed, including employment and education history
- DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts
