About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create digital content promoting Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils’ work, priorities and campaigns
- Produce engaging content for social media channels, the website and internal communications
- Take pictures and shoot video
- Work with the communications team to plan content
- Use different digital media platforms
- Use analytics to guide decision-making
- Produce accessible and engaging content for different audiences
- Lead discussions on the types of content the councils should produce
- Travel frequently around the districts, sometimes to rural locations
- Pitch a new future reel idea as part of the application task and present a mock-up at interview if invited
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced Digital Content Producer
- Proven track record delivering engaging video and pictures for a business or organisation
- Clear understanding of what makes good content
- Creativity and genuine interest in social media and changing trends
- Awareness of content a local authority should share with residents and staff
- Understanding of how to make content accessible and engaging
- Good communication and IT skills
- Political awareness
- Confidence to lead discussions about content production
- Full UK driving licence required
- Frequent travel around the districts, including rural locations
- Application must include a completed application form, employment and education history, supporting statement addressing the person specification, and a written future reel idea
