About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Upload planning documents and keep databases up to date
- Manage financial tasks, including processing payments and invoices and tracking budgets
- Answer calls and emails, provide information to colleagues and the public, and resolve queries
- Issue Street Works Permits to developers undertaking works in the public highway and record information on Aurora
- Organise meetings, book rooms, and support meeting preparation
- Contribute to team discussions and support and cover colleagues
- Help design and improve systems and make processes more efficient
- Provide a welcoming first point of contact with advice and guidance
- Support the delivery of Transport Strategy services across Suffolk County Council’s Growth, Highways and Infrastructure department
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Level 3 qualification and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in an administrative, customer service, financial, or similar role where organisation and accuracy are essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload effectively
- Professional and customer-focused approach when responding to enquiries, including challenging situations
- Positive, flexible and collaborative attitude
- Willingness to support colleagues and adapt to changing priorities
- Eagerness to learn new systems, processes and ways of working
- Commitment to Suffolk County Council’s WeASPIRE values
- CV required for application progression
- DBS checks or police vetting required for relevant posts
