About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the Senior Management Accountant in the delivery of monthly management accounts and Section 151 Officer reporting pack.
Provide financial advice to colleagues and directorates to support financial decision making.
Heavily involved in the budget setting process, financial monitoring, forecasting, and production of corporate overhead recharges.

Requirements

What you’ll need

AAT qualified accountant or someone studying towards their professional qualification.
Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application for Local Government.
Experience of preparing budgets and ensuring stakeholder awareness of budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
Ability to provide explanatory notes to support actuals and forecasts monthly.
Team player with core values of the councils.
