About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Senior Management Accountant in the delivery of monthly management accounts and Section 151 Officer reporting pack.
  • Provide financial advice to colleagues and directorates to support financial decision making.
  • Heavily involved in the budget setting process, financial monitoring, forecasting, and production of corporate overhead recharges.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • AAT qualified accountant or someone studying towards their professional qualification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application for Local Government.
  • Experience of preparing budgets and ensuring stakeholder awareness of budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide explanatory notes to support actuals and forecasts monthly.
  • Team player with core values of the councils.
