About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • work closely with hiring managers across Suffolk County Council, helping them recruit the right people
  • manage your own recruitment portfolio, acting as the main HR Recruitment contact
  • provide practical advice from the initial recruitment briefing through to appointment
  • deliver fair, inclusive and effective recruitment processes and ensure compliant appointments
  • create a positive experience for candidates
  • lead and contribute to recruitment and HR improvement projects
  • provide advice on sponsorship, immigration and right to work requirements
  • support employees through the redeployment process
  • represent the organisation at jobs fairs and careers events
  • deliver training and information/knowledge sharing events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • solid understanding of recruitment and experience of providing advice and support throughout the recruitment process
  • ideally, experience in an in-house recruitment or HR environment
  • genuine passion for helping people and delivering a great service
  • strong working knowledge of recruitment best practice and employment legislation
  • confident building relationships, advising managers and understanding their recruitment needs
  • organised and able to manage a busy workload with competing priorities
  • proactive, taking ownership of your work and looking for opportunities to improve
  • understanding of UK immigration and Home Office sponsorship requirements (desirable)
