Key responsibilities & impact
  • shaping sustainable development across Suffolk
  • responding to planning consultations on behalf of the Local Highway Authority
  • working closely with internal colleagues, developers, and local planning authorities to agree high-quality design principles
  • using expertise in highways and planning to influence proposals
  • negotiating solutions that enable growth and secure vital infrastructure improvements
  • assessing applications and contributing to creating more accessible, inclusive communities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • passion for promoting high standards of sustainable transport in new developments by influencing a wide audience as to the benefits for the people of Suffolk
  • a good level understanding of all aspects of highway design and construction and relevant sections of the Highway Act
  • to be capable of representing the team at meetings with internal and external organisations (as appropriate) to provide expert advice in area of work, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
