shaping sustainable development across Suffolk
responding to planning consultations on behalf of the Local Highway Authority
working closely with internal colleagues, developers, and local planning authorities to agree high-quality design principles
using expertise in highways and planning to influence proposals
negotiating solutions that enable growth and secure vital infrastructure improvements
assessing applications and contributing to creating more accessible, inclusive communities
enhancing transport networks for all users
supporting the development of town-wide transport plans
collaborating to identify and promote practical schemes that improve connectivity and support Suffolk’s ambitions

Requirements

What you’ll need

passion for promoting high standards of sustainable transport in new developments by influencing a wide audience as to the benefits for the people of Suffolk
a good level understanding of all aspects of highway design and construction and relevant sections of the Highway Act
to be capable of representing the team at meetings with internal and external organisations (as appropriate) to provide expert advice in area of work, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
