About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- work closely with a wide range of internal and external partners to develop, coordinate and manage Suffolk County Council’s active travel programme.
- maintain and manage the county’s prioritised programme of walking, wheeling and cycling schemes, responding to requests from multiple sources, and assessing and prioritising projects as funding opportunities arise.
- play a key role in developing and maintaining Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans across Suffolk, working collaboratively with district and borough councils to deliver innovative solutions to complex transport and community challenges.
- promote the benefits of active travel, along with the ability to influence and engage a broad audience to support healthier, more sustainable travel choices.
Requirements
What you’ll need- excellent project management skills with experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously ranging in value from £100k to £2m
- knowledge of Department for Transport (DfT) latest policy and guidance with regards to active travel
- experience in gathering technical information to produce reports, recommendations and advice to a wide range of audiences
- extensive experience of representing an organisation at public meetings in difficult or challenging circumstances.
