About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute sales priorities, support retail strategy, and influence store-level outcomes within the assigned territory
- Sell and ensure best-in-class merchandising, including building displays, increasing distribution of top-selling items, and replenishing permanent secondary displays
- Use consultative selling to interpret store and retailer priorities and influence solutions
- Develop and execute retail priorities and store-call strategies aligned with store, regional, and retailer objectives
- Apply influence and negotiation techniques to secure additional opportunities and commitments
- Lead problem-solving efforts and evaluate alternative approaches for optimal outcomes
- Maintain 100% distribution of authorized Hershey items in the assigned territory
- Execute Headquarter Sales and Merchandising Plans with various retailers
- Achieve merchandising objectives through Permanent Secondary Displays and other display vehicles
- Report weekly activity, expenses, account changes, promotions, and administrative functions
- Report daily activities using tablets and submit reports at the end of each day
- Visit approximately 6–10+ accounts per day and travel between store locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid US state-issued driver’s license
- Personal vehicle in sound operating condition
- Personal auto insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $100,000 property damage
- Auto insurance policy must permit business use
- Reside or be willing to commute within the listed territory boundaries
- Ability to drive long distances and make multiple daily sales calls
- Ability to lift 10–40 lbs. regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and demonstrate manual dexterity frequently, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to use tablet technology
- Daily access to wireless internet
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in territory coverage
- Availability to work 20–25 hours per week
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3–4 years of food merchandising experience preferred but not required
