Consultant, HCA
The Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC)Consultant for Health Match BC managing initiatives to increase qualified Health Care Assistants in BC. Collaborate with applicants and stakeholders for successful integration into the BC health care system.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plans and manages the effective delivery of initiatives and projects aimed at increasing the number of qualified HCAs in BC.
- Strategically communicates with applicants to support them in their pursuit of registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry (Registry).
- Guides HCA applicants in understanding/fulfilling requirements to become registered using a consultative process.
- Updates and monitors applicants’ progress, remaining current with applicants and advising them about funding initiatives to support their HCA Education.
- Creates a career action plan and delivers workshops to broaden reach to BC HCAs and BC health employers.
- Reviews and produces quarterly applicant-to-registrant conversion metrics and forms targets for future metrics in collaboration with the team.
- Provides advice to improve marketing strategies and establish effective working relationships with key partners.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to Human Resources, Business Administration, or Social Services or another relevant degree.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent related human resources experience in the health care sector providing expertise in admissions/educational advising, HR strategies, analysis and problem solving, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated customer service, ability to provide strategic consultative advice, problem solve and facilitate resolutions within unclear guidelines and established frameworks.
- Ability to research and present issues, prioritize work, and make formal presentations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- High degree of proficiency with computers & MS Office software, including MS Teams.
- Physical ability to set up and dismantle conference displays is required.
- Immigration expertise considered an asset.
- BC Driver’s License and travel are required.
