About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data science initiatives
  • Translate complex business problems and user needs into product requirements and user stories for data scientists and engineers
  • Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic impact
  • Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and technical teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis
  • Liaise between business stakeholders, data science teams, and relevant departments
  • Define and track KPIs for data science products, analyzing performance and iterating based on results
  • Champion agile methodologies and best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior product owners or business analysts
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and product management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years specifically focused on data science, machine learning, or AI products
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing data-driven products from conception to end-of-life
  • Strong understanding of data science methodologies, machine learning algorithms, and big data technologies
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools (Rally)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a significant plus
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position
