About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop a team of HR Compliance professionals, setting priorities, coaching, and ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Foster accountability, efficiency, continuous improvement, and risk awareness
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracting, and vendor cost oversight
  • Oversee HR Compliance operations, regulatory data preparation, reporting, legislative monitoring, and unemployment claim processing
  • Own creation, governance, and continuous improvement of regulatory reporting processes for wage and hour, EEO, Section 503, VEVRAA, pay equity, and other filings
  • Oversee emerging regulatory requirements and organizational readiness
  • Maintain and implement HR policy and procedure changes, processes, and controls
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate HR Compliance risks
  • Advise HR and business leaders on complex risk and compliance matters
  • Present HR Compliance risks, trends, and mitigation strategies to executive audiences
  • Analyze employee data and trends for strategic decision-making
  • Develop executive-level reports, presentations, and communications
  • Guide HR on employment laws and regulations including FLSA/state wage and hour, EEO, unemployment, I-9/eVerify, ACA, HIPAA, pay transparency, and leave laws
  • Lead adoption and scaling of automation and AI-enabled compliance solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation of compliance processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Compliance, HR, and/or employment law
  • Experience with state and federal regulatory reporting programs
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong risk management and mitigation strategy experience
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
  • Proficiency preparing executive- and/or board-level materials and presenting to executive audiences
  • Knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment law frameworks
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Copilot
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to embrace change and operate strategically and tactically
  • Effective time management and ability to multitask and prioritize stringent deadlines
