About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Claim Consultant is responsible for managing First Party Commercial Property and Inland Marine claims ranging from moderate to highly complex exposures, including claims with six-figure loss potential.
This role requires expertise in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims, while coordinating independent adjusters, field resources, and subject matter experts as needed.
The Claim Consultant will interpret and apply policy coverage, including Primary, Excess, and Quota Share coverages, and draft clear, comprehensive coverage correspondence.
Develop and execute claim strategies for investigation, evaluation, disposition, and settlement in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
Assess claim exposure, establish reserves, prioritize activities, manage timelines, and drive timely resolution of assigned claims.
Communicate claim status, significant developments, and claim disposition to business partners and management as required.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience handling First Party Property and/or Inland Marine claims.
Knowledge of Department of Insurance claim handling requirements and applicable regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
State adjusting licenses as required.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
