About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Claim Consultant is responsible for managing First Party Commercial Property and Inland Marine claims ranging from moderate to highly complex exposures, including claims with six-figure loss potential.
- This role requires expertise in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims, while coordinating independent adjusters, field resources, and subject matter experts as needed.
- The Claim Consultant will interpret and apply policy coverage, including Primary, Excess, and Quota Share coverages, and draft clear, comprehensive coverage correspondence.
- Develop and execute claim strategies for investigation, evaluation, disposition, and settlement in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Assess claim exposure, establish reserves, prioritize activities, manage timelines, and drive timely resolution of assigned claims.
- Communicate claim status, significant developments, and claim disposition to business partners and management as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling First Party Property and/or Inland Marine claims.
- Knowledge of Department of Insurance claim handling requirements and applicable regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- State adjusting licenses as required.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
