About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently handle lawsuits involving premise liability, products liability, commercial and personal automobile accidents, construction site accidents, subrogation and property damage claims
  • Prepare pleadings, written discovery, reports, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision
  • Conduct legal research and independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients
  • Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues
  • Provide effective and timely communications, legal advice and other services to clients and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology driven environment
  • Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures
  • Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial hearings and alternative dispute resolutions
  • Prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases
  • Attend continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • (7+) years of tort litigation experience preferred
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in Massachusetts
  • Member in good standing of Massachusetts Bar
  • Admission to Rhode Island or New Hampshire Bar is a plus
  • Federal admission is a plus
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are essential
  • Strong communication, computer and technological skills, and the ability to quickly leverage new software are required.
