About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently handle lawsuits involving premise liability, products liability, commercial and personal automobile accidents, construction site accidents, subrogation and property damage claims
- Prepare pleadings, written discovery, reports, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision
- Conduct legal research and independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients
- Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues
- Provide effective and timely communications, legal advice and other services to clients and claims customers on legal and factual issues in a technology driven environment
- Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures
- Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial hearings and alternative dispute resolutions
- Prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases
- Attend continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise
Requirements
What you’ll need- (7+) years of tort litigation experience preferred
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and license to practice in Massachusetts
- Member in good standing of Massachusetts Bar
- Admission to Rhode Island or New Hampshire Bar is a plus
- Federal admission is a plus
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time are essential
- Strong communication, computer and technological skills, and the ability to quickly leverage new software are required.
