About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial) to identify, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, and pain points.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing systems and workflows to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for automation or new technology solutions.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and actionable functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and process flows for development teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to elicit requirements and validate proposed solutions.
  • Work closely with IT development, QA, and project management teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
  • Assist in the creation of test plans, test cases, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure delivered solutions are high quality and meet business expectations.
  • Support change management activities, including training material development and user adoption strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the insurance sector and business analysis.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst , preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven ability to elicit, analyze, document, and manage business requirements effectively.
  • Generative AI Tool Proficiency: Hands ‑ on experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance business analysis work, including requirements definition, process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder insights.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile delivery tools such as Rally, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and the full SDLC.
  • Proficiency in creating various documentation types, including functional specifications, user stories, process diagrams (UML, BPMN), and use cases.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
