About the role

  • Provide Risk Engineering expertise at the Account Level, support and assistance to The Hartford and its customers
  • Assist Large Property Underwriting in risk evaluation of accounts
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Other HIG Business Partners, Clients and Brokers
  • Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments for underwriting evaluating and summarizing exposures and controls
  • Work with underwriting, the client and the broker where appropriate to develop customized Risk Engineering programs
  • Develop and implement Account Servicing instructions to guide Risk Engineering services being provided to assigned accounts
  • Develop year end account summaries for underwriting and the client as required by the different lines of business
  • Review, analyze and prioritize reports, recommendations, and correspondence received from other Property Specialists, Risk Engineering Field Consultants, clients, brokers, etc.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or Fire Sciences is preferred
  • 7+ years related experience in insurance or related field required
  • Highly Protected Risk (HPR) skills and experience required
  • Certification/designation(s) (i.e.) CFPS, PE, CSP, ARM, etc. (at least one is preferred, but not required)
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast changing, dynamic environment
  • Results oriented and high level of accountability
  • Motivated, self-starter. Works independently with minimal oversight.
