About the role

  • Build skills needed to participate in the entire software development lifecycle in support of information technology projects
  • Provide development support for The Hartford’s critical applications and assets
  • Utilize platforms (such Angular, React, Java and .NET) and cloud technologies to develop applications that support organizational goals
  • Utilize programming languages and software technology while applying disciplined software engineering practices
  • Develop or modify software application modules, using disciplined software engineering practices
  • Engage in work that is guided by more senior members of the team
  • Participate in immersive instructor-led training and multi-week learning experience to develop functional skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree – May 2026 graduates
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0 scale) at the time of graduation
  • Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Applied Mathematics
  • Desired candidates have prior programming experience in college and group settings
  • Provide evidence of knowledge and experience in programming languages like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL, .NET or Python
  • Interest in software development, working on an Agile engineering team, technology, and problem solving
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Ability to plan time and organize priorities, and pivot to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to self-learn new technologies
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future
