About the role
- Serve as servant leader and coach for an Agile Release Train (ART) within Claims IT Organization.
- Facilitate program-level agile processes: ART Synch, Release Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, Scrum of Scrums.
- Establish and communicate PI and Iteration cadence aligned to Business Roadmap.
- Manage and prioritize program backlog; collaborate with Product Managers and leadership to refine backlogs.
- Translate business strategy into technology strategy and enable required capabilities.
- Maintain scorecards and productivity metrics consistent with Agile governance.
- Foster communication and collaboration between teams and stakeholders; manage ART flow and impediments.
- Identify and drive enterprise-level continuous improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness and ART Inspect & Adapt sessions; mature Agile practices.
- Execute workforce strategy inclusive of vendors to balance employee/vendor, onshore/offshore ratios.
- Track and communicate ART metrics, manage risks and dependencies, report planning results to senior management.
- Ensure teams on ART adhere to governance models.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer
- Previous experience in any part of the software development lifecycle – as developer, tester, analyst, product owner, project manager, etc. is a plus.
- Experience using Agile toolsets such as Rally.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills
- Working knowledge of Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) and ideally SAFe RTE Certified
- Working knowledge of Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
- Working knowledge of software development processes and procedures; fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
- Working knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test-driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn-down Metrics, Velocity etc.
- HR accountability and proven leadership skills
