About the role
- Translating all terms, including technical terms, as used in HALO’s SOPs
- Accurately translating and interpreting only what is said, without adding information when conducting hazard assessments, and referring questions back to the speaker when asked to elaborate
- Whenever relevant, filter out any culturally inappropriate phrases that might be unintentionally spoken by our international staff members
- In cases of contentions, chaving the sensitivity to choose words carefully and avoid using sharp and pejorative words
- Act as main community liaison between HALO teams and the local communities visited, to ensure acceptance of the teams
- Assist with any other duties as requested
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
- Excellent computer skills, to prepare written reports after tasks are completed.
- Punctuality, with the ability to consistently arrive to work on time.
- Valid driving license preferred.
