About the role
- Join a team of 35 tech sassy Internet of Things and Sensor Technology engineers.
- Partnering with your hiring manager, you: Design, build and maintain scalable infrastructure for ML models.
- Collaborate closely with AI/ML teams to bring models reliably into production.
- Manage model versioning, experiment tracking, and reproducibility.
- Implement CI/CD for ML systems.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and security of deployed models in critical environments.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for model performance.
- Sometimes you support field operations by acquiring sensor data on site and validating the technology through controlled field trials.
Requirements
- Due to security regulations for this role, you have to hold citizenship of an EU Member State.
- Hold a German work permit and Tax ID.
- Live in Germany and happy to support field operations around Berlin.
- Willingness to travel 10%.
- Minimum 4 years full-time work experience as a MLOps engineer or ML engineer with DevOps responsibilities.
- Worked for at least two years for one and the same employer.
- Proficiency in Python and with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Solid experience with ML lifecycle tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow or similar).
- Hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.
- Expert knowledge of CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Fluent in English, any other spoken language is a plus.
- Passion for IoT and defense.
- Personality that thrives in a driven startup/scaleup environment.
- Ideally worked with Golang.
- Ideally experience with bash scripting.
- Ideally understanding of Apache license obligations, including attribution, notice files, and compliant redistribution of builds and containers.
