About the role
- Provide administrative and secretarial assistance to bar counsels
- Maintain and monitor disciplinary files in the case management system
- Type and finalize drafted pleadings, correspondence, and meeting minutes and agendas
- Coordinate monthly grievance committee meetings and assist committee members
- Answer telephone and make case notes
- Maintain bar counsels' calendars and coordinate meetings
- Send outgoing mail and prepare travel requests and expense reports
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or its equivalency)
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible secretarial experience
- Correct spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Standard business formats and styles
- Legal terminology
- Style and format of legal pleadings
- Office procedures and practices
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Lotus Notes or similar databases
- Ability to type sixty (60) correct words per minute
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and operate well under pressure
