About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managing all on-premise activities and programming within designated territory through distributors to ensure maximum market penetration, brand awareness, and sell-through.
  • Leading execution of the company’s core and premium portfolio across a broad account base.
  • Expanding distribution through development of a broader account base and increasing sales within the distributor network.
  • Collaborating with distributor representatives to execute sales plans/goals that are mutually beneficial.
  • Establishing target account lists by channel and collaborating with their Manager to establish timeline of account calls and distributor engagement.
  • Using product and business knowledge to educate distributor representatives and accounts to increase product turn.
  • Representing The Duckhorn Portfolio at consumer and trade events and coordinating participation in luxury and fine wine events.
  • Monitoring distributor inventory and collaborating on inventory visibility and handling of allocated wines.
  • Making recommendations for pricing and programming to meet budget that increases sales in assigned area.
  • Supporting cross-functional collaboration while maintaining clear account ownership, segmentation, and call reporting.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA in Business or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience in wine industry with a luxury brand preferred.
  • Experience working with distributor networks and managing broad market execution required preferred.
  • Exposure to on-premise sales and understanding of luxury/fine wine segmentation preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of fine wine required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a matrixed sales organization with specialized roles.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Diver or Dynamics 365 iDig or VIP Karma a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-60% of time, within the designated market visiting accounts, distributors, customers, and hosting events day and night.
  • Must possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state car registration, insurance, and a clean driving record.
