About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support program budgeting and financial management by tracking expenses, analyzing spending trends, and informing future budget planning
- Research vendors and supplies to support cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Assist with audit and compliance preparation by reviewing financial documentation and maintaining accurate records
- Develop and improve financial tools and systems, including templates and administrative software
- Evaluate and monitor internal workflows to identify process improvements and streamline operations
- Research nonprofit financial management and internal systems best practices and recommend or implement efficiency-enhancing tools
- Build reports, dashboards, templates, and guidelines for data-driven decision-making and transparent operational discussions
- Collaborate across teams to integrate new systems and support continuous improvement of program processes
- Develop onboarding and LMS training modules
- Design SOPs and step-by-step guides for consistent use of internal business systems
- Evaluate training effectiveness using staff feedback and adapt materials to organizational priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Interest in nonprofit finance, business operations, and fundraising processes

- Experience working with youth and commitment to serving as a positive role model
- Passion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work
- Experience working or living in a diverse and inclusive environment with demonstrated awareness of social equity and social and racial justice issues
- Demonstrated practice or education serving diverse communities or populations of people of color equitably and respectfully
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time, set priorities, and follow through on projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Access to electrical power and reliable Wi-Fi for telework/service
- Ability to regularly meet in person at the assigned location, including responsibility for transportation
- Access to a reliable phone
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien
- Must be at least 17 years old at commencement of service, or an eligible out-of-school youth aged 16
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, meet an alternative AmeriCorps education eligibility pathway, or obtain a waiver
- Commitment to the full service term
- Commitment to the AmeriCorps and DREAM missions
- Desire to enhance existing skills and develop new service-related skills
- Must complete NSOPW, statewide criminal repository, and FBI fingerprint-based criminal history checks
- Identity verification with a government-issued photo ID
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
- May occasionally lift or move items over 50 pounds
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally interregionally, including occasional out-of-area and overnight travel
