About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and deliver high-quality, inclusive community engagement across The Crown Estate’s Urban portfolio
  • Ensure community insight informs project design, planning and delivery
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with local communities, stakeholders and partners
  • Monitor community sentiment and stakeholder dynamics, providing clear advice on engagement approaches and potential risks
  • Identify, manage and mitigate reputational risks related to community and stakeholder issues
  • Champion innovative, inclusive approaches to community engagement across the portfolio
  • Develop and deliver initiatives that create social, environmental and economic value alongside development objectives
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with broader strategies
  • Provide structured reporting on engagement activity, key insights, risks and outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insight and best practice across the wider portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrable experience leading community engagement within complex development or built environment projects
  • Strong understanding of inclusive, two-way engagement approaches that encourage broad participation
  • Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Experience managing stakeholder dynamics and reputational risk
  • Ability to work with autonomy and apply sound judgement in complex or sensitive situations
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across a range of audiences
  • Experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
