About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Executive Director is responsible for continuing to develop MUNPC as a dynamic community development organization that can champion the voice and needs of Utica’s most marginalized community members.
- Manage the multi-site Cornhill impact centers, one of which will be constructed at the original site of the Leisure Time Activity Center.
- Ongoing primary responsibilities will include strategic planning and board development, cross-sector collaborations, fundraising, and staff management for operations and programming.
- Evaluate and redefine aspects of the role to effectively lead within the organization, the community, and the Cornhill Revitalization Initiative.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in business administration, urban planning, finance, real estate management, nonprofit management, African-American studies, multiculturalism, or related interdisciplinary studies considered
- Demonstrated knowledge of Black and African-American history, institutional barriers, and culture required
- Three to five years’ experience in executive-level operations and/or business management is required
- Three to five years of demonstrated working experience in addressing the past and current institutional barriers that affect the quality of life for all marginalized communities of color preferred
- Three to five years’ experience in community engagement, event management, community development, and fundraising preferred
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Able to handle multiple projects, priorities, and tasks simultaneously
- Proven cultural competency, including socially and trauma-informed skillful collaboration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication ability, including writing and making effective presentations to multi-racial and multi-generational audiences
- Proficient use of technology systems including Google Suite, Microsoft Office products, video conferencing meeting platforms, and other business systems
- Demonstrated desire for excellence, accuracy, and details.
