About the role

  • Serves as a strategic partner responsible for delivering high-impact data analytics and insights for University Housing and Dining (UHD)
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to define strategies and drive data-informed solutions
  • Leverages advanced data visualization and analytical tools to transforms complex data into meaningful insight
  • Develops and maintains descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and reports, dashboards, and other analytical tools to support decision-making
  • Applies advanced coding, Tableau, data visualization techniques, and other analytical skills to produce deliverables in response to data requests
  • Engages in (and automates where possible) best practices for data activities, including collecting, merging, cleaning, and updating datasets for analytical use
  • Supports UHD assessment needs through recommendation, design and implementation of tools and instruments
  • Assists with special projects and ad hoc data requests as needed
  • Ensures effective project management associated with data projects across the organization
  • Provides advanced analysis and presentation of complex data environments
  • Develops innovative data-driven solutions for strategic decision-making
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and mentorship for direct reports
  • Assigns tasks, sets goals, and monitors progress to ensure timely project completion
  • Manages budget and expenditures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science or related field
  • 2 years’ experience with data analysis or reporting
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
  • 3 or more years in reporting, analytics, or business operations preferred
  • 3 or more years supervising and/or managing staff preferred
  • Experience working in reporting, analytics, or business operations within a university or state agency preferred
  • Experience leading projects from start to completion preferred
  • Experience presenting information to different audiences preferred
  • Experience building datasets and managing dashboards preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools preferred
  • Strong knowledge of collaboration tools, like SharePoint or Confluence preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred.
