About the role
- Support departmental procurement for a semiconductor manufacturing facility by processing purchase requests, resolving vendor issues, and ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining documentation and assisting with project tracking and team support.
- Assist with processing purchase requests for goods and services for small orders including researching issues with outstanding orders, exchanges, and credits from vendors.
- Verify vendors hold on state and federal systems.
- Engages with university departments and vendors as needed.
- Provide guidance and training as needed in areas of responsibility.
- Manage the departmental purchasing mailbox and ensure timely responses.
- Ensure processes align with university, state, and federal regulations, including record retention policies.
- Maintain documentation and implement best practices.
- Project tracking and management.
- Other duties as assigned to include acting as a backup to team members as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field or high school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of relevant procurement, purchase order processing, and/or vendor management experience.
- Small Purchase Order transaction experience at UT.
- Experience working with semiconductor vendors or in a semiconductor manufacturing work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe, and Docusign.
- Ability to interpret policies and implement procedures effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor and commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
