About the role

  • Support departmental procurement for a semiconductor manufacturing facility by processing purchase requests, resolving vendor issues, and ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining documentation and assisting with project tracking and team support.
  • Assist with processing purchase requests for goods and services for small orders including researching issues with outstanding orders, exchanges, and credits from vendors.
  • Verify vendors hold on state and federal systems.
  • Engages with university departments and vendors as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training as needed in areas of responsibility.
  • Manage the departmental purchasing mailbox and ensure timely responses.
  • Ensure processes align with university, state, and federal regulations, including record retention policies.
  • Maintain documentation and implement best practices.
  • Project tracking and management.
  • Other duties as assigned to include acting as a backup to team members as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field or high school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of relevant procurement, purchase order processing, and/or vendor management experience.
  • Small Purchase Order transaction experience at UT.
  • Experience working with semiconductor vendors or in a semiconductor manufacturing work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe, and Docusign.
  • Ability to interpret policies and implement procedures effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
