About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own full cycle accounting and financial reporting for an assigned property portfolio
Prepare quarterly and annual income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Lead month end and year end close processes including review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and amortization schedules
Maintain and monitor the general ledger and chart of accounts
Prepare and review working papers that meet audit ready standards
Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and capital plans
Oversee property tax filings and recoveries
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards
Partner with property management teams to translate financial results into practical insights
Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Analyze trends in operating performance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
CPA designation is considered a strong asset
Strong technical accounting knowledge with demonstrated experience applying professional standards in practice
Advanced analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide clear recommendations
High level of integrity, professional judgement, and attention to detail
Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, with Yardi experience considered a strong asset
Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, growth oriented organization
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset
