About the role

  • Generate and transform data and insights into action to influence BU & Sales decisions
  • Serve as category expert and drive data-led decision making for Sales & BU stakeholders
  • Embed insights into Category Visions, Customer Growth Strategies and retailer activation plans
  • Provide recommendations on category performance, opportunities, risks, and merchandising (assortment, shelf)
  • Partner with stakeholders to define and execute category growth strategies
  • Create, integrate, and expand insights from primary research, internal tools, and third-party data
  • Lead analysis of macro & market trends and shopper behavior using tools like Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, Kantar
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to understand consumer shifts
  • Lead capability building, continuous modernization, and thought leadership in category analytics
  • Develop cross-functional relationships and drive business partner education to maximize insights ROI

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, category insights/development, or business intelligence
  • Strong understanding of consumer goods, retail, or relevant industry categories
  • Strong business acumen and ability to apply insights to business strategies
  • Proven ability to influence business direction as a strategic partner
  • Expertise in data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, or similar)
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Experience with customer segmentation and category development preferred
  • Comfort with custom primary and secondary research
  • Leadership and communication skills; capability building and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with assortment optimization, shelving leadership, and emerging technologies/AI tools
