About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the incoming call queue and assist prescribers, patients, caregivers, and other parties
- Counsel patients or caregivers on medication use and potential drug or disease-state interactions
- Report adverse events, product quality complaints, noncompliance events, and other pharmacovigilance/REMS reports
- Verify prescription information according to state, federal, and REMS program guidelines
- Consult prescribers regarding clinical concerns, including drug interactions and dose adjustments
- Contact doctors and patients to verify prescription details and expedite order processing
- Reconcile patient medical histories with clinical documents to maintain complete, accurate profiles
- Assist patients with medication access through payer and third-party conversations
- Triage complex issues to ensure continuity of patient care
- Collaborate with technicians, reimbursement specialists, nursing, fulfillment, inventory, and manufacturer liaisons
- Provide additional program coverage and support as requested by leadership
- Assist with training and development of newly hired pharmacists
- Oversee pharmacy technicians in required functions
- During on-call shifts, address clinical concerns by providing expertise and counseling outside normal business hours
- Serve as an escalation point and clinical subject matter expert for specialty pharmacy therapies
- Support pharmacovigilance reporting and large teams of pharmacists
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current pharmacist license in good standing required; candidates must hold a license in their state of residence
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with departments and medical professionals
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, quality, and accuracy focus
- Robust writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment
- Ability to work independently and maintain efficiency and focus in a remote work environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times
- Basic working knowledge of email, Word, Excel, OneNote, and general computing
- Cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload for home work
- Candidates must reside in AZ, FL, IN, MO, or PA for the remote position
- Illinois candidates must reside within one hour of the St. Louis, Missouri site and work full-time onsite
- Ability to work pharmacy hours, 7 a.m.–8 p.m. CT, Monday–Friday
- On-call shift required approximately once per year
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime when necessary
