About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with business and technical leaders to understand data and reporting needs
  • Design and document data solutions meeting business requirements
  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes using Spark and PySpark
  • Build and support data models for business and analytical needs
  • Write and optimize Teradata SQL, Hive SQL, and Spark SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines in Databricks and cloud environments
  • Create and support DevOps deployment processes using Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Build and manage Databricks job scheduling and orchestration processes
  • Monitor production jobs, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions
  • Support Databricks data warehouse and data lake solutions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with team members to improve data quality, performance, and reliability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong experience developing with Spark, PySpark, Teradata, and Databricks
  • Experience with Ab Initio
  • Strong SQL skills, including Teradata SQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, and stored procedures
  • Experience implementing and supporting data warehouse and data lake solutions
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, SNS, SQS, Lambda, ECS, Glue, IAM, and CloudWatch
  • Experience with Databricks features such as Delta Lake, Notebooks, Pipelines, Cluster Management, and cloud integrations
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience leading technical solutions and driving complex data initiatives preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Home internet through cable broadband or fiber optic service with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
