About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide telepharmacy services to multiple hospital clients across various states
Enhance clinical team performance and support quality patient care
Ensure safe and compliant medication practices
Perform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling
Support multiple clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems (PIS)
Deliver drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including dosing adjustments, interactions, compatibilities, and infusion guidance
Maintain working knowledge of IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more
Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use
Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours
Document orders, interventions, and recommendations in system by end of shift
Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and Internal policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred
Active and in good standing pharmacist license (PA and/or OH)
Additional state licenses preferred (MA, RI, DE, ME, NH, CT)
At least 2+ years of inpatient hospital experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated customer service skills
Knowledge of formulary management and P&T procedures
Familiarity with client/server applications
Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email
Overnight inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred
Hospital residency is preferred but not required
Board certification is preferred but not required
