About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze pharmacy claims, medical data, provider prescribing patterns, utilization trends, and client-specific priorities to identify actionable clinical, quality, safety, and financial opportunities.
- Develop, document, and execute evidence-based academic detailing strategies, including patient-specific clinical opportunity identification and provider-specific intervention plans aligned to clinical guidelines, formulary strategy, benefit design, and client objectives.
- Deliver customized prescriber education through provider-facing channels such as telephonic consultation, clinical direct messaging, fax, written materials, grand rounds, or other approved outreach methods to support clinically appropriate, cost-effective medication use.
- Use Evernorth analytic tools and reporting resources to improve targeting, monitor outreach activity, assess prescribing trends, and evaluate clinical and financial impact over time.
- Provide provider-facing recommendations related to initiation, continuation, discontinuation, regimen simplification, dose optimization, formulary alternatives, adherence barriers, and other medication therapy opportunities within approved protocols and clinical guidance.
- Partner with clients, account teams, clinical subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, align outreach topics, integrate client-specific processes, and support transparent reporting of progress and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of outreach activity, provider feedback, intervention status, and projected or realized impact to support client reporting, operational continuity, and program improvement.
- Contribute to staff meetings, quality workgroups, client discussions, and departmental initiatives by sharing insights, best practices, outcomes, barriers, and opportunities to improve provider engagement effectiveness.
- Support formal and informal training, mentoring, and professional development activities, including development or delivery of education for peers, providers, clients, or internal partners.
- Serve as a clinical resource for provider engagement initiatives and perform other related responsibilities as needed to support client priorities, departmental goals, and Evernorth’s broader clinical strategy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current pharmacist license required; relevant PBM, managed care, health plan, provider engagement, or clinical program experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to interpret medication therapy, prescribing patterns, utilization trends, quality metrics, and evidence-based guidelines.
- Experience using claims data, reporting tools, dashboards, or analytic platforms to identify opportunities, support decision-making, and measure outcomes.
- Client management, consultative communication, or provider-facing education experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical and data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for providers, clients, and internal partners.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work independently, meet deadlines, and resolve complex issues.
- Demonstrated collaboration, leadership, accountability, and commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and effectively use internal reporting, documentation, and analytic tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while actively collaborating with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders.
