About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Select and retrieve appropriate quantities of medication and prepare the labels that correspond.
  • Help manage and store inventory in correct and safe manner following USP Guidelines.
  • Work with a skilled team to ensure patients get the medication they need in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and production clerks to ensure that medications are adequately filled and support the pharmacy's quality goals.
  • Delivers straight forward administrative and operational support services in the Pharmacy.
  • Works to clearly define procedures under close supervision.
  • Besides verifying, printing prescriptions and doing routine duties, techs pick up the medication and help on the packing line.
  • You’ll start with training, but you’re not doing it alone. You’ll enjoy a supportive environment with your peers and other teams who want you to succeed.
  • Work within USP 800 Hazardous Guidelines and other drug handling guidelines to ensure the safety of our team and patients.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • State of Georgia Pharmacy Technician license required; Certification preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant work experience as a Pharmacy Technician; preferably within a retail/specialty pharmacy setting.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a dispensing pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced pharmacy production environment.
  • Basic math skills and General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, use of the internet and email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Physical Requirements: Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods. Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently. Perform repetitive motion with fingers, hands, and arms. Work may be in confined areas close to machinery. Work may be performed in an environment with varying levels of noise.
