About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Pricing responsibility for all Supplemental Health factors and methodology for Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Care
Ensure rate compliance from rate filing strategy and execution through systems implementation
Provide experience updates to Finance matrix partners to support accurate reserving and projections
Collaborate with business partners across the Supplemental Health team to shape development of new solutions and market strategies
Engage with Claims and Operations to explore and implement process efficiencies
Perform actuarial actual-to-expected studies to assess manual rating accuracy of core Supplemental Health products
Provide pricing insight and support for key portfolio initiatives
Oversee implementation of pricing factors/methodology and supporting engine testing
Communicate actuarial results, risks, and opportunities to both the Pricing & Underwriting and Supplemental Health Leadership teams
Lead two actuarial students in achieving outlined goals while creating a supportive environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or related field strongly preferred
Associate of Society of Actuaries designation required
Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred
6+ years of actuarial or related work experience
Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong desire and demonstrated ability to lead
Proven ability to influence others to drive results
