About the role
- Pricing responsibility for all Supplemental Health factors and methodology for Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Care
- Ensure rate compliance from rate filing strategy and execution through systems implementation
- Provide experience updates to Finance matrix partners to support accurate reserving and projections
- Collaborate with business partners across the Supplemental Health team to shape development of new solutions and market strategies
- Engage with Claims and Operations to explore and implement process efficiencies
- Perform actuarial actual-to-expected studies to assess manual rating accuracy of core Supplemental Health products
- Provide pricing insight and support for key portfolio initiatives
- Oversee implementation of pricing factors/methodology and supporting engine testing
- Communicate actuarial results, risks, and opportunities to both the Pricing & Underwriting and Supplemental Health Leadership teams
- Lead two actuarial students in achieving outlined goals while creating a supportive environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or related field strongly preferred
- Associate of Society of Actuaries designation required
- Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred
- 6+ years of actuarial or related work experience
- Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong desire and demonstrated ability to lead
- Proven ability to influence others to drive results
