About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Pricing responsibility for all Supplemental Health factors and methodology for Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Care
  • Ensure rate compliance from rate filing strategy and execution through systems implementation
  • Provide experience updates to Finance matrix partners to support accurate reserving and projections
  • Collaborate with business partners across the Supplemental Health team to shape development of new solutions and market strategies
  • Engage with Claims and Operations to explore and implement process efficiencies
  • Perform actuarial actual-to-expected studies to assess manual rating accuracy of core Supplemental Health products
  • Provide pricing insight and support for key portfolio initiatives
  • Oversee implementation of pricing factors/methodology and supporting engine testing
  • Communicate actuarial results, risks, and opportunities to both the Pricing & Underwriting and Supplemental Health Leadership teams
  • Lead two actuarial students in achieving outlined goals while creating a supportive environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or related field strongly preferred
  • Associate of Society of Actuaries designation required
  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred
  • 6+ years of actuarial or related work experience
  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong desire and demonstrated ability to lead
  • Proven ability to influence others to drive results
