About the role
- Lead the end‑to‑end strategy, planning, and execution of live, virtual, and hybrid meetings, business events and sponsorship activations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise standards, and audience needs.
- Partner with enterprise leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to shape event goals, agendas, and experiences that support strategic priorities.
- Translate objectives into clear plans by providing project governance, timeline management, budget stewardship, and operational readiness.
- Contribute to event portfolio strategy across multiple event types and tiers, including innovative and non‑traditional formats.
- Help design and execute sponsorship activation touchpoints and ensure alignment with business objectives and overall brand.
- Drive continuous improvement by using data, feedback, and experience to recommend and implement enhancements that increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Deliver clear insights on event outcomes by tracking performance, attendee feedback, and agreed measures of effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate status updates, evaluations, and budget reporting using tools such as Cvent and Wrike.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and confidence when working with senior leaders, vendors, agencies, and partners.
- Collaborate closely with Communications, Sales, Marketing, Branding, Insights, Production, Operations, and other teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality experiences.
- Adapt quickly to change, balancing multiple initiatives while maintaining attention to detail and a strong service mindset.
- Serve as an events and activation expert, helping to educate the organization on events, marketing activation, brand experiences, audiences, trends, tactics, and results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in corporate meeting and event planning or sponsorship event activation
- Demonstrated success leading complex events from concept through post‑event evaluation.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience managing event budgets and vendor relationships with accountability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a highly matrixed organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort partnering with senior and executive leaders.
- Knowledge of event industry best practices, including virtual and hybrid platforms, event technology, production, registration systems, and adult learning principles.
- Experience using tools such as Cvent, Wrike, or similar event and project management platforms.
- Healthcare or regulated‑industry experience.
- Experience contributing to enterprise‑level planning or event portfolio strategy.
- Ability to work from a Cigna Group office 3 days a week, as directed by the business.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15–30% , including occasional nights and weekends.
