About the role
- Conduct legal research and deliver concise analysis to support business decisions and compliance initiatives.
- Review, draft, and edit contracts and legal documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of policies and procedures that drive legal compliance and operational excellence.
- Engage in special projects that advance the Legal Team’s strategic goals and support Cigna’s mission to improve health outcomes.
- Build professional relationships through networking with in-house counsel, business leaders, and cross-functional partners, gaining exposure to diverse legal career paths.
Requirements
- Current law school student in good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Completion of first year of law school by internship start date.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and show professional work habits.
- Capacity to understand situational context and respond with logical analysis.
- Ethical use of technology to enhance productivity and achieve goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- This position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B or CPT/OPT/STEM, etc. , now or in the future.
