About the role

  • Service existing and new accounts through personal and written contact
  • Act as the liaison between customers, brokers, carriers, and internal departments
  • Develop and maintain successful business relationships
  • Educate customers regarding company procedures and legislation
  • Assist in obtaining information necessary to facilitate service for customer groups
  • Resolve problems
  • Collaborate with internal departments and carriers for proposals
  • Create reports analyzing cost and claim experience
  • Distribute information pertaining to customer accounts
  • Comply with state and federal laws, and company policies
  • Organize and facilitate group meetings for effective communication
  • Negotiate adjusted rates with carriers
  • Respond to special report requests in a timely manner
  • Implement self-insured clients
  • Contribute to daily workflow with regular attendance
  • Oversee group mailings of information
  • Travel to customer sites as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management/administration, human resources management or applicable discipline preferred
  • Completion of the Health Insurance Associate program (may be completed on the job)
  • Licensed in Life, Health, Credit Life and Disability in the state of MT (may become licensed on the job)
  • Group health insurance or HR experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize problems and responsibilities
  • Extensive PC skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn claims processing software
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and recall large amounts of information
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret benefit summary plan descriptions, insurance documents and regulations
  • Working knowledge of self-funding and insurance products such as Life, AD&D, STD and LTD
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Professional image and positive attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems with professionalism and patience
