About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the work of other employees, when applicable
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities with HR, including performance reviews, payroll, expenses, onboarding, time-off requests, workers’ compensation claims, and status changes
  • Implement leadership’s strategic objectives and align the team with organizational goals
  • Manage operations and maintenance work, preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and capital project planning and execution
  • Conduct semi-annual facility evaluations and develop annual and long-term plans
  • Perform property inspection audits and ensure work meets specifications and standards
  • Assist with emergency work orders
  • Own KPI performance for timeliness, cost, quality, and self-performance
  • Identify vendors, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate vendor work
  • Oversee the budget and task completion in partnership with operations, facility services, and vendor management
  • Recommend vendor changes when recurring contract services fail to meet desired outcomes
  • Maintain 24x7x365 emergency on-call availability and coordinate emergency work orders
  • Ensure facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards
  • Promote safety programs and emergency response plans
  • Coordinate facility inspections with local and state agencies
  • Build relationships with local leaders and department employees and respond to facility needs
  • Partner with third-party administrators on service-provider work orders and performance
  • Attend weekly FM group meetings covering work-order review, prioritization, and project scheduling
  • Organize maintenance-team training and support regional and headquarters training initiatives
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams
  • Travel as necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS degree in facilities management, construction management, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 years of experience in the facility management industry, including at least 2 years in facility, property, or operations management
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership role leading others
  • 10 years of combined education and relevant experience
  • FMP (Facility Management Professional) certification required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
  • Knowledge of facility and property management, construction procedures, business practices, safety, and fire codes
  • Front-line management experience in a multi-discipline work environment and ability to manage difficult situations
  • Professional communication with employees, priesthood leaders, contractors, vendors, and service providers
  • Proficiency with computers and cellphones, CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, department-specific software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications
  • Understanding of Meetinghouse Facilities Department systems, processes, procedures, and programs, with ability to communicate and teach others
  • Organizational knowledge to include appropriate departments and individuals in decision-making
  • Commitment to continued learning
  • Must live within 30 minutes of downtown Ogden
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
