Strategy Manager
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsStrategy Manager leading strategic planning efforts in a Church department. Collaborating with management and presenting findings to executives while managing strategic projects.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversees consulting projects that involve strategy development, organizational restructuring and management of the business to maximize efficiencies.
- Works toward objectives established by upper levels of management.
- Receives guidance from senior leaders.
- Take ownership of delivering quality strategic proposals to the Managing Director and General Authorities.
- Lead the strategic diagnostic and receive approval for the course to follow.
- Act as a thought partner on key strategic initiatives and priorities with the managing director and other key directors.
- Works cooperatively with team members, directors and the managing director to determine long-term goals and objectives.
- Drives key strategic initiatives.
- Projects include analysis and recommendations related to emerging trends, expansion opportunities, possible threats, viability of outside business partners, internal business performance and business process improvement.
- Will recommend departmental specific procedures and implements those that are approved.
- Work to ensure key stakeholders inside and outside the department are unified behind the proposals.
- Define an implementation plan and help ensure successful completion.
- Manages staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and customers.
- Fosters growth of staff and creates positive experience for individual staff.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, preferably with a strategy emphasis, and 7 years of strategy experience, including 3 years of management or project management experience.
- Additional credit will be given to those whose experience includes strategy consulting at a top tier management consulting firm, or an internal strategy group in a Fortune 500 company.
- Proven ability to create a collaborative team environment.
- Able to influence strategic thinking, identify trends, and analyze data to impact recommendations.
- Comfort with ambiguous and complex situations and an ability to provide logical and coherent potential solutions.
- Highly skilled in the use of standard desktop software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (programming ability a plus).
- Capable of performing detailed, technical data analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a way that builds and improves relationships both orally and in writing.
- Must have excellent presentation skills and abilities.
- Must keep confidences and appropriately deal with sensitive data and documents.
- Graduating from a top tier MBA school is a plus. MBA is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of professional business operations experience preferred.
