About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in refining research questions and study designs
Support or conduct focus groups, observations, and interviews
Develop and administer surveys (e.g., Qualtrics)
Conduct and support analysis of survey, interview, focus group, and observational data
Organize and synthesize existing datasets
Identify patterns, themes, and trends in both quantitative and qualitative data
Summarize strengths, challenges, and implications based on participant feedback
Develop clear, visually effective reports for non-technical audiences
Structure findings to support decision-making and program improvement
Document methods and analytical approaches to ensure transparency and rigor
Work with analysts and researchers to validate and interpret findings
Seek input and alignment to ensure accuracy and consistency
Contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Coursework or experience in research methods (minimum 2 years or equivalent)
Experience with quantitative (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., MAXQDA) data analysis tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Completion of research ethics training (e.g., CITI) prior to hire
Prior experience at the MTC (Preferred)
Academic background in social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology) (Preferred)
Experience with applied research or program evaluation (Preferred)
Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences (Preferred)
Primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use (Work Environment)
Collaborative work with Research & Evaluation and MTC staff (Work Environment)
