About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in refining research questions and study designs
  • Support or conduct focus groups, observations, and interviews
  • Develop and administer surveys (e.g., Qualtrics)
  • Conduct and support analysis of survey, interview, focus group, and observational data
  • Organize and synthesize existing datasets
  • Identify patterns, themes, and trends in both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Summarize strengths, challenges, and implications based on participant feedback
  • Develop clear, visually effective reports for non-technical audiences
  • Structure findings to support decision-making and program improvement
  • Document methods and analytical approaches to ensure transparency and rigor
  • Work with analysts and researchers to validate and interpret findings
  • Seek input and alignment to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Coursework or experience in research methods (minimum 2 years or equivalent)
  • Experience with quantitative (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., MAXQDA) data analysis tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Completion of research ethics training (e.g., CITI) prior to hire
  • Prior experience at the MTC (Preferred)
  • Academic background in social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology) (Preferred)
  • Experience with applied research or program evaluation (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences (Preferred)
  • Primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use (Work Environment)
  • Collaborative work with Research & Evaluation and MTC staff (Work Environment)
