Mixed-Method Analyst Assistant, Part-Time
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsMixed-Methods Analyst Assistant supporting missionary training effectiveness at MTC. Contributes to research and evaluation efforts informing decision-making and improving experiences.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in refining research questions and study designs
- Support or conduct focus groups, observations, and interviews
- Develop and administer surveys (e.g., Qualtrics)
- Conduct and support analysis of survey, interview, focus group, and observational data
- Organize and synthesize existing datasets
- Identify patterns, themes, and trends in both quantitative and qualitative data
- Summarize strengths, challenges, and implications based on participant feedback
- Develop clear, visually effective reports for non-technical audiences
- Structure findings to support decision-making and program improvement
- Document methods and analytical approaches to ensure transparency and rigor
- Work with analysts and researchers to validate and interpret findings
- Seek input and alignment to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Coursework or experience in research methods (minimum 2 years or equivalent)
- Experience with quantitative (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., MAXQDA) data analysis tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Completion of research ethics training (e.g., CITI) prior to hire
- Prior experience at the MTC (Preferred)
- Academic background in social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology) (Preferred)
- Experience with applied research or program evaluation (Preferred)
- Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences (Preferred)
- Primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use (Work Environment)
- Collaborative work with Research & Evaluation and MTC staff (Work Environment)
