Social Media Specialist
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsSocial Media Specialist creating and publishing content for the Church of Jesus Christ's social media channels. Collaborating with teams to enhance outreach and maintain engagement.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and publish social media content within approved processes, templates, formats, etc. and the day-to-day channel maintenance of the assigned social media channels.
- Execute the social media strategies through coordinating content development, writing and scheduling posts, and ensuring content is engaging and resonates with the targeted audiences.
- Design social media content to convey the intended meaning to international audiences.
- Communicate marketing strategies and metrics to clients.
- Maintain detailed publishing calendar for social media content and campaigns to effectively execute, monitor, and adjust the social plans as needed.
- Manage the approval process to ensure each post is approved through COR/IP/VIO, product manager, and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate projects with other department teams such as film/editing, design and translation.
- Provides quality customer service by responding to comments and answering questions in a timely manner, moderating inappropriate comments, and helping resolve escalated issues as they arrive.
- Manage social media ad campaigns by creating the ad posts, refining the targeted audience, and managing the ad spend.
- Mentor and oversee the day-to-day efforts of interns or missionaries as they help with social media.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree plus three years of professional social media or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of effectively utilizing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social media channels as a communication and band awareness tool.
- Advanced understanding of industry best practices in social media and content development.
- Experience with confidential information collection and management.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including versatile creative writing to maintain specific brand voice and tone.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently while effectively managing multiple projects, assignments and/or responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to meet aggressive deadlines with high-quality output.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new platforms, processes, and skills quickly.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.
- Strong ability to manage and build client relationships.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills, effectively resolves issues as they occur, and help resolves escalated issues.
