About the role

  • Grading support for backend and fullstack web development technologies (including Node.js, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and React)
  • Evaluate assignments and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with instructors as a grader (support staff)
  • Apply skills and subject expertise to grade assignments
  • Support student learning by providing feedback
  • Participate in training sessions and apply feedback from training to improve performance.

Requirements

  • Degree or coursework in a related field
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (required)
  • Experience with online teaching/learning, especially with at-risk learners (preferred)
  • High accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in following procedures and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to focus and maintain quality, even with repetitive or complex tasks
  • Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies
  • Professional, respectful, and unbiased in sensitive situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and discipline-specific software
  • Proven ability to grade effectively within these subject areas
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent education and/or work experience may be considered.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
  • Relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Frontend web technologies include JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON.
  • Web development frameworks including Node.js and React.
  • Version control systems, such as GitHub.
  • Ability to quickly read and debug imperfect code.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow test cases with efficiency, exactness, and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
