About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage user access and permissions for people and data systems, ensuring appropriate access controls are maintained.
  • Review new positions within the People System, approving or rejecting requests in line with agreed processes and governance standards.
  • Maintain department and position data, ensuring organisational records are accurate, consistent and up to date.
  • Support data collection and data entry processes across internal systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency and completeness across internal platforms.
  • Perform regular data cleansing and validation checks to maintain data integrity.
  • Support data governance activities, including assisting with the implementation of data policies and compliance procedures.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately at all times. in line with information governance, data protection and security policies.
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the People Systems team or wider department.
  • Respond to ad‑hoc administrative requests to support the smooth and efficient operation of the team.
  • Work supportively and sensitively with colleagues, assisting them to adopt new or unfamiliar systems, processes or solutions.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to shared objectives and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly when explaining technical concepts
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and prioritise customer needs
  • Confidence engaging with a diverse range of users and stakeholders
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential data
  • Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and information security principles
  • Flexible, organised and adaptable approach to work
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel functions
  • Experience creating clear, professional documentation using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working remotely for the majority of the time, with occasional office attendance
  • Able to work effectively both as part of a team and under own direction
