About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts
- Identify trauma, adversity, toxic stress, cultural factors, strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles
- Determine immediate and future risk of child abuse or neglect
- Collaborate with admissions and engagement and complete comprehensive diagnostic assessments
- Complete program-specific assessments such as DLA 20 or ASQ
- Develop training plans and facilitate coaching with a family-focused approach
- Adjust service type and intensity to client needs and make timely referrals
- Support family members through discharge and communicate recommendation or referral changes
- Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions with individuals, families, and treatment teams
- Work evenings as needed to accommodate family participation
- Adjust client acuity with the supervisor as family needs change
- Use trauma-informed interventions to engage clients
- Educate clients, families, and providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, treatment, whole-health self-management, peer support, and recovery
- Manage behavioral health crises through appropriate interventions
- Respond non-confrontationally to resistance and help children regain control and reduce risk
- Record client progress and complete accurate, timely documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, behavior management programs, and discharge planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Active LPC, LSW, or MFT licensure, or license exam eligibility
- Active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
- Previous experience as a Counselor, Therapist, Social Worker, or Clinician preferred
- Must currently and in the future be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Satisfactory pre-employment drug screen required
