About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell the entire Boston Beer Company product portfolio
- Focus on selling products and upgrading the number of product lines in retail accounts, including bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores, and convenience stores
- Identify major accounts not currently selling BBC products and develop plans to establish business with them
- Improve account conditions and merchandising by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items
- Partner with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and account business grows
- Conduct waitstaff and bartender education, beer tastings, and evening promotions
- Work in varied conditions due to the customer-facing nature of the role
- Work periodically on weekends and holidays to support business needs
- Travel occasionally for meetings and trainings
- Travel regularly within the market to service retailers and wholesalers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
- Intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
- Valid driver's license
- Registered and insured vehicle
- Ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
- Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
- Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale materials frequently
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to navigate a complex, fast-paced environment; detail-oriented, consistent follow-up, and accountable
