About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell the entire Boston Beer Company product portfolio
- Focus on selling products and upgrading the number of product lines in retail accounts, including bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores, and convenience stores
- Identify major accounts that do not currently sell BBC products and develop plans to establish business with them
- Improve account conditions and merchandising by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items
- Partner with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and account business grows
- Conduct waitstaff and bartender education, beer tastings, and evening promotions
- Work in varying conditions due to the customer-facing nature of the role
- Work weekends and holidays periodically as needed
- Travel occasionally for meetings and training
- Travel regularly throughout the market to service retailers and wholesalers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
- Intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
- Valid driver's license
- Registered and insured vehicle
- Ability to drive continuously to and from accounts
- Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
- Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop frequently to arrange and display point-of-sale materials
- Bachelor's degree preferred
